Itzt komm ich/ als ein armer Gast/
O Herr zu deinem Tische/
den du für mich bereitet hast/
daß er mein Hertz erfrische/
wenn mich der Seelen Hunger nagt/
wenn mich der Durst des Geistes plagt/
biß ich den Schweiß abwische.
English
Now I come as a poor guest,
O Lord, to your table
which you have prepared for me
that it may refresh my heart.
When the hunger of the soul gnaws at me,
when the thirst of the spirit afflicts me,
then must I wipe away the sweat.
