Vom Himmel kam der Engel Schaar/
erschien den Hirten offenbahr/
sie sagten ih[nn]: Ein Kindlein zart/
das liegt dort in der Krippen hart.
English
From heaven came the host of angels,
appeared clearly to the shepherds.
They said to them: a tender babe
lies there in the hard crib.
