ach wie lang ach lange/
ist dem Hertzen bange/
und verlangt nach dir/
Gottes Lamm mein Bräutigam/
ausser dir soll mir auf Erden/
nichts sonst liebers werden.
English
Jesu, my joy,
meadow of my heart;
Jesu my jewel,
ah how long, ah long
is my heart afraid
and longing for you.
God’s lamb, my bridegroom,
there shall be for me on earth
nothing dearer than you.
