Vom Himmel hoch da komm ich her/
ich bring euch gute neue Mähr/
der guten Mähr bring ich so viel/
davon ich singn und sagn will.
English
From heaven on high I come here,
I bring you glad, new tidings.
Of glad tidings I bring so many
of which I will sing and speak.
