In dich hab ich gehoffet/ Herr/
hilf/ daß ich nicht zu Schanden werd/
noch ewiglich zu Spotte/
das bitt ich dich/ erhalte mich
in deiner Treu Herr Gotte.

In thee, Lord, have I put my trust,
help me that I am not put to confusion,
nor eternally to scorn.
I implore thee, preserve me
in thy truth, Lord God.
